Afternoon all,

Joined this morning after looking for some info and stumbling across the forum.
Started brewing about 4 wks ago as a new lockdown project and I am loving it.

my first batch (IPA) is conditioning and I have had a couple of sneaky premature tastes and I’m pretty happy, given I thought the batch was a lost cause after a fermenter hiccup. Batch 2 (IPA markII) I’ve only just bottled so will try later in the week. Couldn’t resist a third batch this weekend (Vanilla Porter) and I really enjoyed a much calmer brew day!

Keen to pick up tips ,recipes and equipment advice. Looking at investing in kegs and taking on all grain but starting small and slow.
All the best JP!

Yup seriously looking at all grain. Loving the possibilities. What’s your go-to brew?

Ales, low-gravity. I'm not really enthusiastic for all those double-digit ABV's, I prefer mine around or below 5%. So pale ales it is! And on the other hand I'm quite chuffed with Ron Pattinson's "The homebrewers guide to Vintage Beer" : old recipes worth rebrewing. Often not too difficult (few malts, few hops) but very satisfying.

Spot on I’ll give it a look. I def like the pale ales. Tbh I’m pretty keen to try most brews right now I was the same with Whisky years ago, found a couple I liked and then ended up liking them all!

Well... risk is that you end up wanting to BREW THEM ALL, have kilos of hop in the fridge and 8 special malts in a plastic bucket! :laugh8:
