My name is William,
Originally from Canada I used to do home brew there, you could join a "club" they provided you with everything you needed, you just bought the stuff to make the beer and used their brewing equipment and bottling stuff. It was great.

I've been here for 16 years now, and I have been thinking of maybe getting into it again.

So, open to advice, what does one need if they want to brew at home?

That club you used to belong to sounds like a great idea, unfortunately nothing like that exists here, at least not that ive ever heard about anyway.
Hope you do get back into it, youll surely know what youre doing anyway but all the help and advice you may need is right here.

It's worth looking through the forum and trying to find those living local to you...then get yourself an invite to join a more experienced homebrewer on one of their brew days
You can see their setup and ask plenty of questions.

Hey William,

I got all my stuff from freecycle, from Fermenting vessels (big 25 litre bucket with a lid) to demi johns to bottles and crates. failing that (if you are just going to do kits, like I have) you can do a lot worse than getting a all in one kit, they are available from plenty of sites but the chaps at brew uk are pretty decent all round....

Good luck with it all. Have a good nose through the forum too, the guys are all very happy to help wherever they can.

On weekends I visit my parents in Poole, so I figure that will be where I kick start off.

Interesting there are no places like I used to use in Canada. That might be a business in the making then.

Off to do some looking for Brew kits, and I love the Freecycle idea.
