Nothing in the kit reviews or on google, so I'm guessing not, looked on a website which says 3kg of malt for about 20 quid so it should be decent, doesn't mention the yeast used though.

Bump: I've just ordered one, HofE Platinum Wheat Beer soooo have I made a mistake, or is it any good. Any feedback

Still, it's too late to change now but with 3kg of malt it can't be too bad can it :confused.: worst-case scenario at least I may be able to answer the other posts even if it is over 6 years late :cheers2:

Usually Wheat DME is half barley half wheat, so I would guess the same for the kit. This is similar to a typical wheat beer recipe. The yeast is important in a wheat beer and it is not clear what sort of yeast it comes with. "Premium Ale Yeast" can cover a multitude of things!
If you are concerned, try a Crossmyloof yeast:

KRISTALLWEIZEN

Thanks for that Slid, I was going to start it tomorrow, on the yeast packet it says "66 yeast Premium" apart from that it comes with 2 - 1.5kg tubs of malt, 1 packet of hop pellets, and a sachet of liquid hop extract.

Initial impressions are good but I have now ordered 3 packets of Kristallweizen yeast and will wait till next week before brewing with the new yeast.

That will give me a chance to make cider with the Lidl apple juice a bought yesterday if I receive the cider yeast I ordered a couple of days ago from Crossmyloof in the morning.
