I used a coopers brew kit for wheat beer and misread one of the instructions! It said to add 500g spraymalt and 300g sugar but I accidentally put in 500g of sugar as well as the 500g spraymalt.

Have I ruined my brew?

This is my first brew so I'm a complete newbie.

Praying that you'll all be able to reassure me!

Unlikely but I am pretty new too and have done any wheat beers.

Extra sugar tends to up the abv and in that sense can mask some of the flavour, but 200g extra shouldn't ruin it.

+1 to all the above. One or two more kits and you'll be chucking all sorts in to see what happens.

It will be beer, and a tasty one too I should imagine. Nothing to worry about. Slightly stronger than advertised, but hey in my book that's not such a bad thing!

It should be fine, too much sugar can make a beer taste "thin". Just keep good records on your brewing and how it tastes. After a few brews you will get the hang of tweaking things towards what you're aiming at. Just don't change too many things at once, be methodical.
