i started my brew 6 days ago and everything seemed to go ok i tested the gravity and it was 1.036 and i tested it today and its now at 0.995 is that normal or have i done something wrong?
the brew is about 21-23 degrees

Sounds like its fermented well though 0.995 is suspiciously thin, i.e. thinner than water. Are you sure you're reading your hydrometer correctly? Either way, I'd recommend leaving it for another week to allow the yeasts to clear up after themselves and then bottle it.

ive tryed it a few times it a few times today and still reading really low i can put up a pic of the reading if that helps

there seems to be a lot of sedament at the bottom of the bucket

thats good and the hydromater seems to be rising now its at the 30 mark

Nah you have to fill the trial jar to about 1 inch from the top, then put the hydrometer in to read :D

i filled the tube up to the top and its back at the 1000 mark again

do you know what temperature the hydrometer is calibrated at - they are usually 20deg or 15deg C, do you know what temp your tester is at? as it might be say 23deg, and be calibrated at 15deg for example so needs some adjustment - there are some readily available hydrometer adjustment tables online.

Have a look here: brewingfaq.php#f13

how long to you leave the hydrometer in for? ive left it in for about 15 mins and its moved to 11 or 12

sounds like its at 1010 which is normal and fine , as said leave a few days for yeast to clean up brew , if it has fermented down to 0995 then its most likely got infected with wild yeast (which may not be a bad thing) best way to tell is taste it , it won't hurt you even if bad etc , just smell it first too .
