Hi all.

After brewing a Coopers IPA kit and being very impressed. I thought that I would have a bash at another Coopers, this time a Pale Ale. followed the instructions and I think I might have put the yeast in when the wort was a bit on the cool side. Any way, its been in the FV for 9 hours now and no bubbles or crust or anything, its just sat there doing nowt

Any good ideas? :wha:

Give it a chance :D . If the wort was below 15/16 degrees the old yeasties wont be too keen on getting to work. Give it a chance to warm up a touch and check again :thumb:. Sterilize a thermometer and check temp. If its about 18/20 then all should be good and you may have had a duf pack of yeast :thumb:

Did you give it a damn good thrashing? Lack of oxygen in the wort can make it slow for yeast to get going. Combined with the cold, you might have a slow starters.

Wait 24 hours before you even beginning to worry.

It could also be a blessing, if the yeast is dud then I bet the experts here can recommend a better yeast than the one that came with your kit. Of course I'm assuming you have a HBS in reasonable distance...and you might have to wait till Monday...umm....on second thoughts just ignore this. ;)
