Has anyone bought this Mini Keg Starter Kit?

I'm considering this kit and was hoping he anyone else has this and what the advantages or disadvantages were
It's the best price ive seen considering the party tap can be around fifty quid on its own
One question I wanted to ask was how long do the canisters last approximately?

It also looks like he’s talking about a beer kit rather than the Party Star Deluxe Tap starter kit.

There’s plenty of information about the Part Star Deluxe Tap on this thread https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/easy-keg-5l.57568/. I have a PSD but don’t use it very often because I have a unit that chills and dispenses my mini kegs.

I'll confess to eyeing them up a few times as an alternative to bottles.

What put me off them though is that I simply can't fit a 5 litre keg into our fridge, and prefer my beer a little on the cool side.

Tons of info and peoples experiences on the thread mickdundee linked to. But my short answer would be, yes it’s a very nice setup to use if it suits your consumption habits. I don’t use mine loads as I’m the only beer drinker in the house and I like to vary styles, so bottles suit me better. But for visitors or parties, brilliant. I can, with a bit of wiggling, get mine into the fridge and the tap in which helps.

I have one. Bought from Leyland for a similar price, really good piece of kit. The kegs are better suited to less carbonated beer styles. Canisters usually last about 3 kegs

Hi Mick! Do you still endorse these? I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:

- Once you've plugged in a keg, do you have to pour it all the way to the end? Or say I had a couple of different beers, could I alternate between kegs?
- Does it pour clean beer even if it's sugar-primed in the keg? I'm wondering would it pull sediment from the bottom.
- I keep reading people saying that you have to finish the keg in a couple of weeks. Why is that? If the beer is in a sealed container, kept under pressure with a head of CO2, why the hurry?

These should be filtering through the the UK market this year suits a 10 or 20 litre keg. complete with preset regulator all you need is a soda stream bottle and you are all set. Ferment and serve from the keg, no chance of oxygen ingress.

These look fabulous! Do you know anything else about them? e.g., brand/model, where and when they'll be available?

If they're affordable enough, I might skip the 5L minikegs and go straight to 10L...

That'd be ideal. The problem is, I've never seen a dispenser (like that Klarstein linked above) that works with a 'proper' 5L keg – only with the cheapo ones. Does such a thing exist?

I have a Dark Farm 5l keg with CO2 dispenser, but the mechanism is super fidgety (the pressure metre is completely unreliable) and no way to keep it chilled.

Might be better off with a proper regulator, will the keg not fit in your fridge? The mini-kegs won’t be much smaller once you have the tap mounted.

In my early days of beer I did buy an insulated barrel which worked really well for keeping a mini keg cool. Must see if a 5l stainless keg would fit in it…
