harvesting yeast???????

Hi all, new to this homebrew thing, was just wondering about the possibility if harvesting yeast from my next brew (beeing a tight **** and not wantin to fork out everytime). Are there any crucial steps with regards to harvesting and storing or is it just a case of scraping out my yeast cake and feeding in a sterile container. Or is it possible to freeze??? Any help would be greatly appreciated (mostly by my wallet) thanks in advance.
