Growing hops

I had an idea, in spring I might get some hop root and grow some hops, I cant do it in my garden but what about just planting it near a chain link fence and letting it go ape? There is already stuff in there between a hedge and a fence the council doesnt bother with so why not let it be hops?

Don't know if you'd get in trouble for doing it in the UK. There is a really nice bit of fending where hops could go just out the back of our house. Seriously considering doing it there myself.

Worth a try, only thing you gotta worry about is vandals I guess...and if the council maintain the area they may think its a weed and cut it down

Hopefully your hops wil grow like weeds though!
