growing hops

Anybodies experiences in growing their own hops ? I know that one could not produce a comparable cropping item in the garden without a lot of work , or so I have read - but I know at least one person on this forum is at least planning to grow their own

The desirable varieties are out there , offered for sale , as plants rather than seeds which apparently are tricky , so....??

I think Evanvine grows his own hops if I mremember.
Do a search on the forums.

we do too fuggles and challenger they come as plants in pots you can see more info about them here

Thanks mate , I put myself on their mailing list earlier . Funnily enough , my parents were married at the church in willingham and I lived there for a time as a very young child.....and then they became foreman-and-woman of a nursery elsewhere .

How did your plants from them come ? Did you need to buy a few to get some good candidates ? And how do you take care of them ? I could ask my old dad but I would get a 3 hour lecture about the soil chemistry and how to run coal fired boilers to heat the glasshouses
