Mine aren't growing yet (newly planted in late Feb). I live in east anglia and it is just starting to warm up (ish).

Fingers crossed.

I have two EKG shoots above ground by about 2 inches, and my Target has just poked it's first shoot up over the last couple of days. Nothing from my Bramling Cross though at the moment.
I'm growing them in pots, and these is my first ever attempt at growing them so the fact i'm getting anything at all is a big relief!

Afternoon All,

I’ve have Fuggles and EKGs planted at my brother’s place in Nottingham but not a sign of life yet.

They went in when in was quite mild in January; we’ll have to wait and see……

Little bit envious of the pics….

Last years hops are all dead, not surprised really given where we live and the bad weather, started to grow a little then succumbed to mildew, leaves turned balck.

So I thought I would have one last go, just bought the following from A-plus hops

Wye Challenger Bare Root Hop Plant
WGV Bare Root Hop Plant
Progress Bare Root Hop Plant
Phoenix Bare Root Hop Plant

Three are resistent to downy mildew and one is resistant to powdery mildew, cant seem to find a strain resistent to both and useful for brewing. Lets hope we get a summer this year.

Hi all,

Looking to purchase some hop rhizomes if possible off any members here. Jack Frost killed off my Northdown plant over winter - thistles & dandelions mark the spot where once it stood. PM if you can help...

Cheers!

New Hop Growing post on my website with pics! (because I don't have time this morning to re-size the images to post here!)

Not a bad article DethApostle, well done. :thumb:
The only item worth correcting is that Hop bines will grow to 30ft not just 16. :)

I thought it was more like 16 metres ( or around 50 ft ) dependant on variety

Thanks, not sure where I plucked 16ft growth from to be honest! Even the Website where I bought the hops from (and got most my info) says 25ft! Who knows...
Glad you enjoyed the read though!

Hey there, maybe someone would like to post trade hop rhizomes? I still have 1 Saaz an some Marynka rhizomes left, both are great Euro hops, Saaz is classic, Marynka is Polish Saaz on steroids, moderate alpha (8-10 %AA), great aroma, earthy, spicy with liquorice notes. Would like to trade to Goldings/Fuggles/Cascade/Centennial/anything else :)
