Hello everyone! :-)
Just thought I'd stop by to introduce myself.
I love doing things myself in preference to consuming mass-produced products and so it was a natural progression that led me to look into brewing my own beer.
It all started back at the beginning of the year when my eldest stepdaughter's grandfather gave me a bottle of his home brew, which almost blew my head off! ;-) After consuming a few more bottles over the next few months, he offered to show me how he brewed it. I'd always thought it was a bit of a convoluted process with lots of specialised kit, but I discovered otherwise that fatefull day in his kitchen, watching him boil his hops, add the malt and mix it all up.
I then began looking into things a bit deeper and hopefully I've been able to take his basic process and develop it for myself. Ingredients are on their way, so hopefully come the New Year, I'll be set to start my own brew. I'm rather looking forward to it actually. ;-)
I'll post my process and recipes elsewhere and hopefully some of you will be able to guide me further.
So, Cheers all, : I look forward to sharing my journey with you!
