Greetings from a novice brewer in Leeds. I'm a 24 year old student who's been brewing for around a month now and very much enjoying the fruits of my labour. I'm not just a poor student looking for cheap booze, the interest in beer goes back a long way. My Dad and my Granddad brewed and I've been drinking proper beer (not mass produced lager) since I was old enough to drink in pubs. I'm here to learn, socialise and of course talk about making great beer.

Cheer LeedsBrewer. Unfortunately Morley is a little out of my way and I can't drive. Abbey Homebrew in Kirkstall is where I've gotten most of my stuff from, apart from a few odd bits from Wilkos. It's a great little shop run by a very knowledgeable bloke who always happy to help and give advice.

Another brewer from Leeds? Are their quite a few of us?

theres also Leedsbrew, the_liam, ginger ninja, matthew_Pullin and a few others whose names i forget.

I'm in the same boat, I'm over at crossgates and there's no homebrew stores over this way. i get a green zone bus ticket for work though and both lhbs are within the boundary.

I'm lucky enough to be in spitting distance of a metro station. I live in Burley so the next stop is Headingly station, which is just up the hill from the homebrew shop.

Hi, I'm from Leeds also, I live in Roundhay. Gonna make some wine, to keep the missus quiet then try make some proppa beer

Yeah my girlfriend complained she hated the smell of the malt extract when I brewed beer last week but she soon perked up when I mentioned doing a batch of wine sometime soon. Keep 'em sweet (and intoxicated) with wine while you brew up your malty/hoppy delights is my advice. We should do some beer swaps at some point if there's so many of us in the area.
