Hello all,
Yesterday I ordered "quite a bit" from Malt Miller, however a couple of packets of yeast were showing "out of stock". No worries I just use their notification system to tell me when they get the items back in stock so I can order...so main order placed around 3pm,then I get a notification after 5pm that the yeast I need is now available...do I ordered it. My main delivery qualified for free shipping...the yeast, being a separate delivery, wouldn't...
This morning coming in off nights I got an email saying the yeast would be included in my main delivery and the postage for the second, refunded...which they have!
Excellent!

Can't fault them at all. I find some of their stuff is a tad more expensive than other online sellers, but their 25 kilo sack of crisp MO is cheaper and this together with their excellent service makes it a winner.

I've only had to query an order once and it was sorted out within an hour, all via email.

They also do loads of shiny stuff ... Mmmmm, shiny stufffff.....

Honestly i dont mind paying a little bit extra, on my recent order a packet of lallemand yeast was soft and full of air, contacted mm in the afternoon.Next day by 9 am a new pack of yeast dropped through my letter box.

I just feel sorry for the delivery driver carrying 25kg sacks of grain up 1 flight of stairs :)
MM normally have a great selection in stock, so thumbs up from me.

I have only EVER had great service from the MM and as jeg3 said some of their sacks of malt are cheaper than other suppliers. When I bought my most recent order I did compare with other suppliers and one one other had all the bits I wanted and on an £80 order the MM came out only £3 more expensive, and I'm quite happy to pay that knowing everything is fresh will be with me in 24hrs

Very similar great experience - less than 48hrs turnaround in run up to Easter. Also like that you can choose a fine crush which has helped since I started experimenting with full volume mash. Also being a bit of a tart love how nicely its packaged and the personalisation on the labels on the bags of malt. Now my go to supplier even though have loads of loyalty points elsewhere.

i placed an order on 10/04/21, it dawned on me on tuesday afternoon that although i'd had payment taken and receipt, i hadn't had order confirmation.
the order status was 'cancelled' for some reason. i gave them a call and they pushed it through for processing and it'll be with me this afternoon.
good service.

i like brewuk's loyalty points and i go between them and malt miller for equipment, but malt miller get all of my grain orders and often yeast & hops too.

I have to agree, the Malt Miller are fantastic,i use them all the time now and everything is normally delivered in 48 hours, i mentioned i had a problem with an AG kit with a liquid yeast not starting to ferment and Rob gave me a £10 off online voucher, fantastic service👍.
I used to use Brew UK all the time but since last year’s lockdown they have been absolutely awful, with long delays for orders placed, dont know if they have reduced the staff, but i recently waited over 2 weeks just for an email reply so bought the item elsewhere, and another email i sent was not even replied to, Brew UK have also received a lot of negative Google reviews recently,a shame as they used to be really good.

Did that "quite a bit" include a corny starter kit by any chance? wink...

I used to flit between BUK and MM but now only use MM.
The MM quality and choice is excellent and I now find the prices at BUK have risen in the past 6 months. Some of their equipment is much more money than what MM sell.
I really miss the BUK loyalty scheme and think this would be something that MM look at.

I use MM exclusively now - they have a great range and the expiry dates are longer than anywhere else I have tried.

No need to look elsewhere for me.

I have used Cross My Loof on Ebay for hops, but the last lot of hops i bought were all sent in ordinary clear vacuum sealer bags and not mylar foil bags, not impressed at all and some of the packs were soft- so not airtight, i did mention it to them but but all the guy said was "read the description" ( i had spent nearly £80 on hops and expected better packaging) so resealed them all myself- not something i should have to do and the use by date was short (end of this year) i believe, so i will never be using them again. I would rather pay extra than accept shoddy incorrect packaging.
The Malt Miller for me now for everything.

On the back of your recommendation @Clint , I have been inspired to place an order for "quite a bit" of ingredients from MM. Should last me until the end of the year. athumb..

I'm about to order a few ingredients for my next few brews to keep me busy. I really like the usability of the MM website, basically you can order malt in 50g increments (anything under a kilo incurs a small bagging charge which is very transparent) crushed or uncrushed or fine crush, and the website is excellent.

I find with other websites there is constant scrolling or searching which is a pain, only to find they've not got what you want in stock

Well this is the first bit of bad feedback I’ve seen regarding CML. I get all my hops and yeast from them and never had a problem.
