I bought expensive 50lbs.malting barley 2 yrs.ago. Only started to use it recently and find that it will not chittle when steeped.Problem seems to be ongoing dormancy. Can anyone who has experienced dormancy with barley suggest any method of persuading the grain to go on to germinate.
