Has anyone got any experience of the cheap grain mills sold on Ebay from China. A Dutch guy posted an unboxing video on Youtube and he seemed impressed but I would like some more opinions before I consider buying

No experience but I might be interested. Do you have a link.

Very happy with mine.

Not the greatest build (some were worried about the mill flaking when used empty) and some adjustment required (there's a ball bearing some of us have popped out).

I used a jug and kept topping up the hopper and ground just over 2kg in 15-20 mins (while soaking the rest of my kit in sanitiser).

Some people say they are good and some don't.

Read a few complaints about pieces of metal coming off into the grain. I know a lot got taken down from eBay on safety grounds

If you mean the 2 roller machine with distinctive black rollers then I advise you to stay well away. I ordered one 2 weeks ago. It arrived quickly and is the worst example of shoddy quality Chinese cheap rubbish that I've seen in years. Faults I found were:

- Main roller axle with handle attached was bent. The roller would not rotate straight so you would get a continuously variable crush size!

- Adjustable roller jammed closed at one end. No amount of persuasion would make it release.

- Machine oil & grease evident on on the inside of the machine and rollers. No way would I put food through it.

I complained to the seller for a full refund and got it. I then spent the extra on a mill sold by themaltmiller.co.uk and what a difference. Night and day. Perfect precision, high quality and much larger capacity to boot.

Found this one , looks good 132057191004 item number for ebay
That is the bad one that I got refunded for and is now basically scrap metal. IMHO the extra 20 quid for the Australian 'malt muncher' that themaltmiller.co.uk are reselling is definitely worth it.
