Looking for some advice on brewing with golden syrup. I'm goin to be making a tin bitter and some turbo cider could I possibly replace sugar with it and more importantly would my tongue be offended by this lol .

Golden syrup is a form of invert sugar which is what commercial breweries tend to use instead of plain sugar as it is easier for the yeast to consume. Some say iy gives a cleaner taste than plain sugar. Can't think of a downside :thumb:

agreed, defo a cut above sugar, but u do need more per weight as some of its water, if u want the same abv...cant remember how much- maybe 20% as its something like 20% water?

Yes that is about right. My tin say 78% carbohydrate off the top of my head so you need abit more.

At the risk of being slaughtered, I have brewed a few Stouts with Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup and found there is quite an after taste in my opinion although I have never used it in TC,s.

Isn't that the point? I've used it in an Old Speckled Hen recipe and it turned out great.
