going to do a little turbo cider brew today , iv got a 4.8ltr dj which i use for my wine, so what do i need , what yeast and do i put all of the packet in , do i add sugar to it and a yeast nutraint ???? :hmm:

When I make TC in a demijohn I add 500g of silverspoon and use wilkies champagne yeast which gives a nice dry 7% ish cider.

But if your stuck getting yeast then I have used bread yeast as well but it dosent turn out quite as dry iirc I used hovis bread yeast because it was all I had at the time :thumb:

edit: I never used yeast nutrient but if you have some chuck it in I know some people use it.

I made one last week

4 l apple juice
1 cup of strong tea
2 bramley cooking apples blitzed
safale 04 (all i had)

just put the two tea bags form breakfast into another cup and left to stew for 5 minutes
put all ingredients bar 1 litre apple in the demijon shake like mad for 30 seconds take a breath repeat
put the air lock in wait two days then add the remaining apple juice ( still blews out the air lock)
it's been brewing for a week now will leave it another then strain and bottle, no priming.
It will never get clear because of the apples but tastes appley and has a scrumpy look and won't be fizzy.
You can make it fizzy by priming with more apple juice

I add the sugar and 1 litre of apple juice to a sanitised pan and just warm till the sugar has melted and add it to the DJ last as I have had a DJ crack by adding warm liquid to it
