Awful news that a child has died thank god it wasn't many more as it sounds like it could easily have been, police say they're not treating what happened as terror-related.
A child has died after a Land Rover crashed into a primary school in Wimbledon, south-west London, just before 10:00 BST
Before the death was confirmed, police said nine people - two adults and seven children - had been injured
Speaking earlier today, local MP, Stephen Hammond, said some of the injuries are "critical"
Police say they're not treating what happened as terror-related
Officers add that the driver stopped at the scene - they said a woman in her forties has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous drivingIt was the last day of term at the school - The Study Prep - a fee-paying, private institution, which is on a quiet road next to Wimbledon Common
There has been a heavy emergency services presence at the scene on Camp Road, but many emergency vehicles have left in the last couple of hours
We're hearing from a few people who know the area, who have expressed shock at the incident in a quiet part of London.
Local MP Stephen Hammond says The Study Prep school is on a "relatively secluded" area known locally as the quadrangle .
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, he describes Camp Road as being a "very tight" place which is "very difficult to speed on because it's difficult to pass".
"People tend to stop and pass each other. So it's really surprising that this incident happened and obviously one waits to hear the circumstances."
The crash has also shaken up local residents, including a former parent at the school, Julie Attwood, who describes Wimbledon as being like a "little village" in London.
