Hello all, I've been a home brewer for a good number of years and used to be moderately active on some forums, but for a variety of reasons I've not done any brewing (or foruming) for a few years now. I spent 3 years working as a professional brewer too, but ironically that was one of the reasons for not brewing at home for a good while!

I've steadily been rebuilding part of our garage to make a dedicated brewing area over several years, but being furloughed for 3 months and then part time for most of the year has meant great progress has been made and I'm now nearing having a permanently set up brewing rig, rather than cobbling everything together in the kitchen every now and again. The last few weeks has seen a flurry of shopping for parts to get things (hopefully) set up over Christmas, and maybe get even get a brew in over the coming weeks.

Cheers.

Cheers guys. I'll hopefully have some time over Christmas to make some progress with the brewing gear and all the plumbing. Not sure there'll be any brewing happening mind you, just build, build, build.

A looooonnnggg overdue update! Things are still progressing, but not as much as you'd expect given it's about 18 months since I last posted.
General business meant nothing happened over Christmas '20, and then I've been unwell since April '21 (and off alcohol for about 6 months 😭), only recently getting well enough to want to brew.
Trying to pick up where I left off is proving a little challenging, especially with the control panel I was part way through planning! I'd bought lots of parts for the plumbing too, most of which I have no idea what the plan was, it looks like I've accidentally binned one of my notebooks which would have had the schematics in.... So some ground to be made up.

I did manage a brew a few weeks back, went into it with some trepidation but thankfully I had a lot of muscle memory so it went smoothly and I was within a point of my target gravity. It's a derivative of BDs Electric India, essentially a hoppy saison/IPA. It's been bottle conditioning for a few weeks so will be due a sample shortly.

Hopefully this is the start of more regular brews, I've certainly missed it!
