Just seen a email:

50% OFF CRISP MALTS! We need the shelf-space for more of our fantastic new ranges of Muntons and Simpsons Malts. So ALL Crisp malts are 50% off. This will be a never-repeated deal, and once they are gone, they are gone! We are discontinuing the range, and stocks are limited, so don't miss out. Get your malts now.

Thanks.

You can have 25kg in your basket at the base shipping price of £6.

Any feedback on plumage heritage malt
I would assume like Chevalier and takes longer to mash eg 90 minutes. I don’t know why but I did take measurements when I used some and confirmed that it was still increasing in gravity.

I went for some Hana since it was cheap. Presumably may need a step mash but I’m ok with that.

I understand that it is being discontinued by Crisps (separately from what GEB are doing which is simply a reorg of their product lines) so if you fancy brewing with it then you need to get in sharp.

Proper noob question time, but is Vienna Malt a pretty good like for like for Pilsner malt?

No, but a Vienna lager could be up to 100% Vienna malt, so it depends what you want to achieve.
More looking at sours and citrussy lagers. I've used Pilsner malt for both before with decent results. Alas there's no pilsner malt in the sale (hence asking on here) and I've never used Vienna which is in stock.

Yes they had a lot more first thing this morning. Closest thing left would probably be Organic extra pale ale.

Thanks for the heads up. Just run out of Extra Pale Marris Otter, so couldn't resist getting some Crisp Organic Extra Pale Malt.

Keep checking. I looked for some Chevalier when I first got the email and they only had a handful of 500g bags, so didn't bother. Checked again and now I've just order 10kg, and could have got a full sack.

Glad I read this. Hana malt was back in stock after reading this. Ordered a 25kg.
