Brewing on saturday but LHBS has run out of Nottingham, so has choice of S04 or Gervin, this is for a strong mild.
H anyone used the Gervin and is it any good? :wha:

Quite, I think I pay £1.10 or £1.20 for the Gervin from my LHBS.

i assume that's the 5g packs though?
No, we're both wrong, I just got one out of the fridge and it's still got the price label on it, 90p for 11g, use by May '12.

That's been in the fridge for a couple of months but I'll be going up to my LHBS tomorrow afternoon so I'll check their current prices.

Ah ok, maybe the beer yeast is considerabley cheaper than the gervin wine yeast, or if not then my lhbs is ripping me off!

I've been up to my LHBS this afternoon, the Gervin ale yeast (new box dated March '13) has only nudged up to £1.00 so I've replenished stocks in my fridge.

Their GVx wine yeasts are £1.10, so our shops' prices are fairly similar there.
