Ok folks - who is heading to the GBBF?
Had my ticket for what seems like a lifetime. I heading over on the Friday - if anyone else is, how about meeting up for a stodgy breakfast to facilitate easy 'sampling' of all those wonderful brews?

If not the Friday - there must be some of us in here who are able to meet...?

I have been trying for years, But never get the break to get down there with the wife as well. Next year I shall say feck it and Not go on holiday just soI can do all week @ GBBF Then we can meet up! But please go to the welsh bar and try the breconshire lot :thumb:

Hey,
I'm new around here and hopefully heading up on the Wednesday, if anyone's around who perhaps wouldn't mind a chit-chat? I'll probably have had my first brew day by then and will be full of thicko's questions and queries ahead of bottling and what not!
Pete

im there on wednesday till 5ish for the trade day

got a beer on this year"shipwreck ipa" my brewery is the liverpool organic brewery if anyones interested

At a guess I'd say that GBBF is the Great British Beer Festival, no doubt someone will put me right!

Yup eric :D

Critch... if there is any left on the Friday, I'll definitely give it a go!

Hey critch!
I'll be floating around then as well, with some family and friends, I may see you about!
Regardless, I shall definitely get myself a bottle of your IPA and let you know about it! Looks really exciting! Plus, as I'm quite keen to get as much IPA tasted as possible before my first attempt at one emerges in 6 weeks time, it's going to be particularly appreciated! :drunk:

Isn't the trade session on Tuesday?

I've only just decided to go, so I'll have to forgoe the trade session. But I will be there on Thursday. If anyone sees a rather drunk long haired chap in a Sandstone Brewery hoodie, please point me in the direction of the nearest bar.

yes it was.

critch quietly suffering still

beer seems to have gone well. my stout on the staff bar sold in 20 mins! ipa is down to the last kilderkin too

Great IPA Critch! Loved it, although I spent 30 minutes trying to find it, as for some reason I was convinced it was on the bottle bar... I was a bit of a numpty there!

Had some great beers all in all, not sure I'll be grabbing another Lambic again soon... and definitely don't think ending on an Imperial Stout was wise in hindsight...

many thanks :thumb: some bugger slated it on the gbbf website!, called it watery and tasteless, definately not that :hmm:
methinks someone with an ulterior motive!

I can't see any comments like that?

:wha:

on the beer itself there was a run of three very negative comments mind you the other 17 were very complimentary :D

I looked for it critch .. somewhere around the end of Friday morning, couldn't find it and someone said it had sold out!

Damn shame as I was looking forward to it. Still I made up for it by keeping below 4% beers and drinking until I fell over. Judging by the tee shirt I found myself with on Saturday morning, I was seemingly keeping the flag flying for Ollie Reed :D
