I have just bought a nordic 70l stockpot as a new boiler.
I will brew a 40l brewlength in it so boiling about 55litres of wort down to 40.
Can anyone recommend an appropriate gas burner/stand to use with this?

Many thanks :D :D

Hi Andy,

I don't know if you are interested, but I have this one I bought. Then my better half decided she did not want gas bottles around the house.Had to use electric instead.

(sorry not sure how to do a linky thing.)

Foker Large Square Gas Boiling Ring with FFD Ref: FK003145NG

Scroll down (LEFT HAND SIDE) to No 14 down on their listed page.

It is exactly the same as the one you listed, but can be converted to Natural Gas (with an extra supplied, but not fitted).

I will let it go (not used) for £50 + postage.

PM me if interested.

Regards.

Nigel.

I agree entirely A, lots of heat wasted with gas heating the planet and not the brew. I did some experimental work before I went electric, with a burner out of my workshop heater, much bigger than that little fokker and even the big paella heater. :) I was very disappointed with the result, as you said loads goes up the side, noisy, not cheap to run and you need a bottle of gas as a spare. ;)
I did bother to work out the gas burn rate / bottle life, but was not sure what efficiency figure to base it on, but I reckoned the running costs would be wild, also having a good electric supply, decided to go immersion heaters, count two. :D
