Hi Guys
The nearest cold water tap from the mains is about 45 feet from my brewy set up.
at present i fill up using a stainlees stock pot .... pain in the ****.. :(
If i use a standard garden hose to fill up will i get a taint from the hose? :wha:

could you not get clear plastic pipe same bore just for the brew i know from caravaning they say not to use ordinary hose
i have and aint had a problem but i dont drink the water from aquaroll unless for a cup of tea!

I run a normal hose from the kitchen to the garage ( not attached to the house ) for my brew days, Things to do if you are going to use this method after use make sure the hose is empty of all water, secondly run the water through the hose for a few min before filling your HLT / Boiler this should clear the hose out of most things that may lurk in it.... spiders slugs snails and other creapy crawlies plus it flushes it out of any water that has stagnated in it after its last use.

You give me confidence :thumb: i wll use my HOSE

I leave the hose feed to my garage (brewery) permanantly connected and have a tap on the end of it.
This way the hose never empties and I have full controll without having to walk to the outside tap every time.
Brew days are controlled by the outside temp during the winter (hose freezing).

Hi Bones, Ive used my yellow hose for the past 5 years, ditto with the other brewers, I just run it through for 5-10mins before I connect it to my set up.
Cheers Steve.
