I wonder what sort of FG I should expect from my 1.053 OG ale? I tested it Sunday and it was at 1.013 after 2 weeks.

Where did you source the yeast? I use Whitelabs WLP002, reputed to be the Fullers strain, a fair bit and it normally stops at 1.012. I have cultured from bottles but that was many years ago.

You've got about 75-76% attenuation. I've had about 77% using WLP002 the last couple of times (WLP002 allegedly Fuller's yeast) and thought they both finished a tad lower than I might have expected. So I'd say what you've got seems fine. 75% is quite normal for an UK Ale yeast, so you've perhaps got used to some very aggressive yeasts (some US ones might go to 80% or more, and the last time I used a Saison yeast - going from your username you might have used them - I got 102%!).

I am happy with it not drying out too much for the beer I've made, so all is good.
It smelt fantastic whilst fermenting and there is a distinct Fullers flavour to it.
