Im thinking of bottling from the keg now my first 2 brews are in the kegs and clearing well.

Reason for this is that I have a lot of guests at christmas and it would be good to have a ready supply in the fridge without having to pop into the garage many times to extract some.

Would I lose my carbonation if im quick with putting caps on?

Im not decided on this yet, so your valued input will be welcome

Yorkshire terrier, my views of my first ever brew:
its 10 days in the keg now and the test bottle has cleared nicely so it had to be drunk.
My godness is it bitter.........I actually think its way too bitter, its a nice ale and has probobly come out spectacularly well for a first go but crikey, is it bitter.

Will this abate at all or is that bitterness there to stay?

You need to reprime, I use half the amount you would usually as there's loads of co2 in there. You also need to syphon and its difficult from a keg - you can't use the tap. We use 2l bottles for bottling if we are all going to drink it, poured into a pitcher.

Another easy option is to decant into a pitcher from the keg. 4 pints will last an hour on the table easily :)

I would just use a large jug or pitcher. Will be a lot less hassle and you won't have to keep visiting your keg quite so often :thumb:
