Freezing hops

Hi all. Just recieved my first order of hops (cascade) from crossmyloof. Delivered very fast indeed.

Now, when ive used the quantity i need. Whats the best way to store them in the freezer? Shall i attempt to vacuum seal them or will an airtight Tupperware tub be sufficient enough?

Vacuum seal. Lidl's webshop had these fairly cheap sealers, not sure if they still have them. Around 30 bob?

No need to vacuum. Seal the bag with a iron and just bung it in there.

Or use the wife's GHD's (hair straighteners) while she's not looking.

I wont be dry hopping until saturday now. Would you suggest freezing the hops until then, or will they be ok chucked in the cupboard amongst the beans

I put mine in a ziplock bag squeeze the air out and stick in the freezer.

And all these measures rank on a scale from good to better, none of them really wrong. Just keep it stable, put it in the back and label it well.

They are pretty dry, and hardly likely to "go off" quickly. Chuck 'em in and out of the freezer at will. There is no "do not refreeze after thawing" relevant to hops.
