Hi,

I have a couple of flexible tap hoses in the garage (you know, the silver ones that go from tap to the copper piping?), and I've seen on a couple of pics that people are using them in their boilers as a hop strainer.

I was just wondering how the end is sealed up when you have chopped the smaller connector off ?
And do you just saw/drill holes in it, as you would a copper tube?

Just thought that this would save me a bit of copper pipe !

Was also going to use one as an outlet on my HLT/Boiler as well...

Cheers, chaps

Stephen

I use one as a hop straner Stephen. I just hacksawed the ends off, take the rubber tubing out and pushed in to a 15mm T joint, makes a lose connection, but handy when cleaning. No need to drill or cut slots, the mesh acts as the filter

Thats got to be one of the easiest hop strainers going

reckon even I would have a chance of making one of those

Stephen, hope its not too late but meant to say keep the ends you cut off.

If you get the last bit of rubber and mesh off, theres a nice tail thats a nice snuggly on clear tubing :thumb:
