Hi All,

I'm the proud owner of what would otherwise be a nice tasting Youngs Lager, however it didn't quite reach its carbonation potential. I put this down to a mix of choosing the KingKeg for a lager as well as not enough sugar in the batch prime.

So....what are my options? I'd hate to have to throw it away so can I transfer it to a corny and force carbonate? Or is it possible to kick off the batch prime again? I'd originally brewed in an FV and then batch primed into the KingKeg.

Thanks in advance.

You'll never get enough fizz in a plastic keg for a lager. You can transfer it into a corny and force carb (or prime the corny), or you can batch prime in the king keg again and bottle it all

Would there be enough yeast left over to carbonate? Would you advise to force carb given its a lager?

Unless you've killed off the yeast somehow, there's still be a few million yeasts around to carbonate it if you prime with sugar. It may take a little longer for the yeast to do it's thing, but it'll carbonate just fine.
