Am making a witbier this weekend - Ho's Garters, Hoegaarden clone.

The recipe calls for 500g of Flaked Wheat, but I haven't got any, so can I use something to replace it?

The recipe also uses 500g of Torriefied Wheat, which i have a load of, can I double up on the Torriefied Wheat to replace the Flaked?

I have Flaked Oats and Maize - are either of these any good?

i can't seem to find any FW on any of the major supermarkets, or Holland and Barret, and I am not sure if there are any whole food shops locally although I've had a look online.

Any advice appreciated.

personally i'd wait till you've got some but if not use pale wheat not torri .
Here's mine
2.5kg of pilsner malt
1.25kg pale wheat malt ( or 2.5kg)
1.25 flaked wheat
saaz hops 35g at start of 90 min boil (approx 3% aa)
25g at 15 mins left
25g of fresh corri seed rolled at 5 mins left (smell em if faint double up )
25g of curico orange peel
wlp 400

cheers Pittsy (and everyone else).

I've found a LHBS that has Whole Wheat, will that do as a substitute? until I can get some flaked wheat proper.

If not, I'll just put the brew day off until the following week.
