flake rice

Has anyone used flaked rice in pale ales and bitters. I have heard that this would give higher O G.
If so is it used like flaked barley staight out of the bag or should it be cooked first
 
Don't cook it! Just lob it in. Apparently you can use cooked regular rice as well, but the flaked stuff does seem like a lot less bother.
