Hi

I started my first brew a few weeks back and carried out the first racking on Tuesday, I added the stabiliser and camden tablet how long is needed before I do the 2nd racking do i have to put more stabiliser in and another camden tablet? and when is best to add the finings?

I also have a grape and apple which I put on a few weeks back and that's still bubbling like mad!

Thanks

As you have racked it, give it a good few shakes over a few hours to get all the gas out of the wine. Then leave the wine somewhere cool to clear. Or you could add finnings (I use Kwick Clear myself) then leave somewhere cool, and it will clear quicker.

Whichever you do, after it has fully cleared, rack it again so it's off all the sediment, but make sure you add another crushed campden tablet.

thanks the orange one had stopped bubbling after 2 weeks and was clearing so racked it is that okay? the apple one is taken a lot longer to calm down

From my (very) limited experience and knowledge, different juice WOWs will take different times to ferment out. Personally I always check mine with the hydrometer and wait until they got to 0.990 or close to it.

I think my orange WOW was finished in about 7-10 days, but as I didn't really keep any records at the time I can't really comment for sure.
