I use corny kegs and force carbonate from a CO2 cylinder and regulator. Using priming sugar (sucrose) at about 1/3 cup for 5 gallons will normally do the trick. I don't have any experience with the little "sparklets" so take your best guess there unless someone else chimes in.

Yes that's what I use with PB batch prime with sugar then when pressure drops about half way through barrel, plug in C02 and give it a blast.

You can either use priming sugar (using the instructions in your kit) and wait for secondary fermentation to produce CO2 or you can force carbonate by simply injecting CO2 as soon as you’ve kegged your beer.

Either way, if you drink several pints in quick succession you will need to inject another CO2 bulb to fill the additional head-space you’ve created.

If you use priming sugar and don’t drink very quickly, the priming sugar might just keep the keg pressurised.

Cheers for the info. Turns out there was a pressure leak so that was the end of that... Luckily only a loose nut.. all checked out even more properly and sorted now. Onto the next hopefully less disastrous
