Hello Everyone!

I have just started to Homebrew. Bought my first kit & equipment from Art of Brewing. Busy with the Art of Brewing Bitter kit. I'm on day 3 and getting ready to do some Hydrometer readings in the next 2 days!

welcome.

I hope you took a hydrometer reading when you made the kit up...thats your OG

leave it 10 days then take a reading again...that should be your FG.

Hi there and welcome :)

I'm new to all this myself but I think it's best to keep the bugs out and leave the lid on for the first week and a half.

Welcome!
There's a couple of us not far from you... Radstock and Chelwood

Decent home brew shop in Keynsham of you're short of bits and bobs.

Thanks everyone! According to my instructions I was meant to stir it once each day for the first three days. Which I have done. I am a little worried about the wild yeast and other nasties!

Hi

I'm the one from Radstock

Any problems give me a shout, quite happy to pop over and talk thought stuff if you get in a pickle.

Cheers
Nic

Thanks Nic. I might take you up on that. I did a temp check this morning and my brew was sittign at 17.7 degrees C this morning. I have it in the Garage with a Space Blanket around it to help maintain the temp. The past few days it has been maintaining a temp of 18.5. I will check it again when I get home.
