Was doing my first brew by myself this evening when i realised I din't have a spoon long enough to stir it was going to use BBQ slice which was long enough when i realised it had sharp edges and could scrape the fermenter so I used a spoon which wasn't quite long enough with the result that my fingers got in the brew a bit. My hands were constantly in and out of the starsan mix I had the kit sterilising in. Will I get away with it?

While it is a good idea to be a bit anal about cleanliness and sanitisation while you are starting out and until you get a good grip on it, I think you'll be fine. I often dip my hands in starsan and let it soak a bit for things where I can't help but touch something that will contact the beer - e.g. the siphon.

Get back to us when you are supping the brew and tell us how well it turned out.

You can usually greatly improve one can kits by doing a dry hop, as you might have found out on here.
Lots on here now get their hops from Crossmyloofbrewery (ebay or Facebook with 10% discount) since prices and service/delivery are good, unless you have a LHBS nearby.
If you are interested come back and tell us what your kit is and we can make some suggestions on the hops to use or look at this
