Hi all,

hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a great new years = )

Just a quick question, I am going to do my first partial mash tonight and just have one thing to clear up.
I will be using a 10litre stock pot but obviously want to get the most out of my ingredients and get the most amount of beer possible so once I've done my boil and chilled it is that the volume I am left with or can I add more water when it's in the barrel to increase the overall amount without decreasing the ABV?

Hope this was clear. Still very new to this.

Kind regards

KMC

Hi KMC
Yes, you can add water later (boiled and cooled) but it will definately reduce the ABV. I'm unfamiliar with your process I'm afraid, not having brewed a partial mash for many years, but what are the 'instructions', what volume is specified?

Well I'll be using a 10litre stock pot. It's only a trial run at the moment so am not too worried about making a small amount so long as it's right and works. It was more of a query really.

Thanks

KMC
