Having made my first brew up of ale, still waiting for the bugger to clear :? tastes ok though
I have decided to try a lager kit, and hopefully not have to wait as long for it to clear? I made it as per instructions, and it's now sitting in the kitchen corner doing it's thing. My question is this: when it reaches transfer time, can i use my plastic keg with tap to draw from, or will i be going to the brew shop for a bottling kit and caps?
Thanks.

Both methods sound fine; in the simplest case, if all you have is a keg, you can do everything in there - fermentation and clearing. Ideally you'd ferment in a big fermenting vessel, then move the beer into a keg to clear, away from the decaying yeast, which might give off flavours. Good luck!
