Today I did my very first kit with all my new kit I bought with my birthday money, very straight forward, no problems, just didn't realise how heavy 5 gallon was, I made it in the kitchen but had to carry it upstairs.

Any ways wondered if anyone else had tried this particular kit and what results they'd had.

I made this one last year (and the shiraz version)

They came out pretty good as I recall, not bad for £25 (had a £5 off voucher)

Nothing like a shop bought fiver merlot, much simpler tasting but still pretty nice

Be good to see what you think, finishes really quickly too, sure mine was start to bottling inside a couple of weeks

ps.. 'with your birthday money' 😃

😂😂😂

yeh it's good to drink pretty much as soon as it's bottled, I kept a few back for a few months and didn't notice that much difference

Noticed you got a lot of wow there roddy, what juices you using, fancy this stuff myself, do you put glycerin in yours?

yeh put about half a wee pot you get from the supermarket into 23L of wine..

I'd suggest starting with the 'easy rose' type (chippy tea's recipe) to get a bit of a benchmark before trying other juices. That one is red grape and apple.

good fun making !

Will try some wow's when I get my hands on some demijohns,
Had to put a blow off line on this Merlot today, 48hrs nothing, then Krakatoa, vino everywhere, was amazing, anyway after a wipe down and clean up I made a blow off into a bottle of steriliser, seems much happier :thumb:
