There is one word you will hear a lot on this forum. PATIENCE. Time is your friend. :thumb:

Haha, I've generally tried to be out of my flat to reduce the chance of faffing around with it :D

Every time you look at it, test it, move it is a chance for infection. Best thing to do is get another one going to keep you ocupied and reduce the urge to meddle with the other one :D

After a week of conditioning, my curiosity has got the better of me. And my first impressions are that its actually alright. Black treacle priming gives a good after taste, and although its still a little yeasty. I'm looking forward to how it will taste in a few weeks. Although since it's drinkable it might not last. :D

EDIT: Trying another bottle thatI batch primed its definately not as carbonated as those i bottle primed. I guess my measurements where off :(

Okay, I have given in again. a few days in the cool has given a definate inprovement, although its low on carbonation.

here is an image :drink:

That looks brilliant, I bet you're well pleased

Yup, plesantly surprised, however I bet with a few weeks conditioning it will be awesome

I can say from the two stouts I've made, and countless other brews, it will only get better with time

Okay, I have a confession to make. there are only 9 left now :(

However it has been interesting to taste through the process, and its starting to taste like proper beer. Although the head is still a little yeasty, and its not as rounded as a bought stout flavour wise (as I used BKE) I think another one with some dark spraymalt would be bob on. I cant wait till the wherry's are done, then i might put a 3kg stout kit in.

Have had one in a fridge for around 3 weeks, that definately beat the ones on the garage floor. Just a shame I dont have enough room for them all.

You might like the brewferm oranje bock. Mine has been bottled a few days ago. Not quite a stout, but you might like it is a variation. Test jar sample revealed a very chocolate, toffee, coffee taste. Will leave it a good few weeks before event thinking about touching it. Luckily i'm away on hols for a few weeks from the end of july.
