Can I ask is it best to add primmg sugar to 2nd fermentation bucket either dissolved in water or neat or just to bottles after the beer.

Up to you!
As long as the sugar is divided between the bottles equally it doesn’t matter. I used to make up a sugar solution and dose each bottle separately, but most of my friends who brew rack the beer on top of a sugar solution in a separate bucket prior to bottling.

Hi, hope your first brew's going well, what beer did you make?

For priming, I make up a sugar solution and use a Calpol syringe to get the correct measure into each bottle. Saves stirring up the trub at the bottom of the FV and also ensures each bottle gets the same. Plenty of people add it to the FV though, either way I'd ensure it was a sugar solution.

Most of us have learnt by trial and error and use whatever works for us.
