So after reading a load of stuff on here and watching a number of videos on YouTube, I decided to get on with it and finally do an all grain BIAB.

I used a 33L Peco boiler to mash and boil in, using the maxi-BIAB method. I retained a 10L bucket of sparged wort for boiling once the volume of original wort had fallen to a sufficient level after evaporation.

I was trying to recreate something similar to Castle Rock's Harvest Pale.

3.8 kg Lager Malt
0.5 kg Golden Promise
0.35g Torrified Wheat

90mins Cascade 20g
45mins: Galena 13g + Cascade 13g
15mins: Galena 13g + Cascade 13g + Protofloc Tab.
0mins: Galena 33g + Cascade 33g

Cooled to 22oC and Danstar Nottingham added.

Original gravity: 1.044

I wasn't aiming for any specific numbers, I decided to get on with it without worrying. Humans have been brewing for a long long time so I thought I would just DO IT and not worry about the numbers!

Hopefully it'll come out goooood (or at least drinkable)!

Did you get 23l?  If so you managed nearly 74% efficiency, which is right on the money :thumb:
Looks a good recipe to me with plenty of late hops. My bet would be that it will be a cracker
I'd be getting the next brew on ASAP to keep stocks up. Who'd want to drink shop bought beer?

Everything went well until I dropped the last 66g of hops on my kitchen floor after weighing out, then my brother knocked a plastic container into my boiler. Oh well

Came out with exactly 23L.

I've gained a great insight into BIAB brewing and hopefully everything will go swimmingly next time. Just need to look for a recipe!

Had a cheeky taste of this brew 4 days later. I've been worried about it for some reason.

Taste really good already. Perhaps too bitter when compared to the Harvest Pale, but a great beer in its own right.

Can't wait to drink this :drink:

Gravity is down from 1.044 to 1.010.

Looking to brew a Fursty Ferret clone next following this recipe:

3.5Kg MO pale malt
300g Caramalt
300g Wheat malt Pale

12g Target - 60 mins
20g EKG - 20 mins
25g Styrian Goldings
