So after reading a load of stuff on here and watching a number of videos on YouTube, I decided to get on with it and finally do an all grain BIAB.
I used a 33L Peco boiler to mash and boil in, using the maxi-BIAB method. I retained a 10L bucket of sparged wort for boiling once the volume of original wort had fallen to a sufficient level after evaporation.
I was trying to recreate something similar to Castle Rock's Harvest Pale.
3.8 kg Lager Malt
0.5 kg Golden Promise
0.35g Torrified Wheat
90mins Cascade 20g
45mins: Galena 13g + Cascade 13g
15mins: Galena 13g + Cascade 13g + Protofloc Tab.
0mins: Galena 33g + Cascade 33g
Cooled to 22oC and Danstar Nottingham added.
Original gravity: 1.044
I wasn't aiming for any specific numbers, I decided to get on with it without worrying. Humans have been brewing for a long long time so I thought I would just DO IT and not worry about the numbers!
Hopefully it'll come out goooood (or at least drinkable)!
