First attempt...specific gravity question

Hi all, I'm a newbie here, recently got my homebrew kit and have started my first batch!

It's been 7 days since primary fermentation started, I've been checking the specific gravity the past few days and it is fairly stable at 1012, which is a bit higher than the 1009 mentioned in the kit instructions. Should I leave it for another couple of days, or it is just as well to barrel it now?

The kit is a Milestone Imperial Pale Ale.

Kit instructions and estimations of gravity are mostly ********. If its been stable at 1.012 for a few days its finished.
