Mine was a failure in that it tasted very insipid.

But since then I have understood the basic principles of why Cider apples are used for cider and why dessert apples are used for apple juice.

Once you understand the basic difference in chemistry and add malic acid and tannin to your brew then it will improve immensely. That coupled with a cider yeast from old rosie MLF and maturation I now have turbo cider which actually tastes of something.

Not a triumph, but not a failure either. It was a sort of good basis for improvement.

Read about TC, tried making some, first pint the wife - forced from beer to cider by diagnosis of coeliac disease - immediately said we could stop buying the commercial stuff.
So that's a success, basically, though it wasn't as good as the ones I make now, and I'm always thinking they could be better.
...and we only buy occasional bottles of high quality or speciality ciders now.
