Hi All, here are a few pics, i hope, of the equipment i used for my first AG brew.
Some of you wanted to see them so you could give some advice on how to refine things a bit.
So here goes.

Boiler, Stainless Firkin with 3KW industrial heater fitted, also stainless ball valve.

Thats it then, thats all i used for my first brew.
Any comments on this stuff, i just made what i seen on the net. Monkey see monkey do.

Thanks,
Bob

That new hop strainer does not seem to have enough holes, you could end up with stuck mashes

Nice bit of bodging T :thumb:

Agree with prolix about the new strainer, think I'm on my forth design. They have progressively got bigger with more and more holes in and it still takes me 25min to strain 50ltrs, I get a nice clear wort though

I think you could possible do with a bigger surface area coverage with your Mash Tun Manifold.

Only having pipes around the edge of the coolbox you run the risk of the water channeling down the outsides of the Tun and missing the grain. I would add a few cross pieces to that also with slots cut into them.

I do believe you are right and shall be adapting it before the next brew.
More so when you look at the spagre system i was using which i guess could also benefit from a few cross pieces as long as i could keep a steady trickle out the whole assembly.

The Hop strainer went to work with me today and got a jolly good peppering, now more little holes than copper methinks.
It looks as if it should work but i dont understand why the first one never worked well.

Cheers all,
Bob
