nice one, looks great
love the boiler shroud - going to have to nick that idea :D
great set up

Thanks I was looking at a galvanised dustbin for the boiler shroud from B&Q
but had the bits of ali plate from my landrover trials days so seemed a shame to spend cash

@ Calumscott the burner is from a BEAUCLAIRE outdoor cooking set we bought years ago .
fits the 40 ltr pan like it was made for it

@ Hawks Would love to but out of fermenting vessels for the time being .

9 days now since pitching the yeast in the Old peculiar clone and just done a hydrometer reading from 1052 its now 1014
still the odd bubble from the airlock .
the sample was as flat as anything but tasted lovely
should I leave it at the same temp (20 c ) until next weekend then move it into the cold for a week before dropping it in the corny keg .

i'd be looking at it tomorrow test it , if still 1014 (mine finish around 1012/1014) then drop temp for 3 to 5 days the transfer in corny by this weekend .

Whoo Whoo what a result

My lovely wife just poured me a real bottle of Old Peculiar so while she was out of the room I popped a bit into a wine glass and also poured some of my week in the keg OP clone for her to do a blind tasting .

On the visuals she thought my brew was the real beer .
on taste she liked my brew better than the real one but thought correctly that the real one had more alcohol
which is correct mine is 5.2 the bottled is 5.6

Chuffed to bits with the first brew :D
