Saturday is the day for our first all grain brew with our gear we have assembled over the last 2 months

we are hopefully doing 2 brews if time allows the first one an Old Peculier clone and the second a hoppy bitter
hopefully more pics to follow tomorrow

here is the OP recipe
4330g Maris Otter Pale Malt
410g Crystal Malt
75g Carafa III
135g Chocolate Malt

19g Fuggles 60 minutes
28g Challenger 60 minutes
10g Fuggles Flame Out
1 x Protofloc Tablet 15 minutes
1 x nottingham Ale Yeast

and my mate is doing one called Shropshire Lad

3990g Maris Otter Pale Malt
250g Crystal malt
50g Chocolate Malt
320g Torrefied Wheat

25g Fuggles 90 minutes
27g Goldings 90 minutes
10g Fuggles 15 minutes
10g Goldings 15 minutes
1 x protofloc Tablet
1 x Nottingham Ale Yeast

Looking good there :thumb:

Taker your time and enjoy the process. There will probably be the odd fumble on the way but the beer will be great :)

Thanks we are missing a false bottom in the tun so will be using a bag as a filter
are there any issues in doing this

Looks like you are well set to go :thumb:

I can't imagine any problems using a muslin bag but I'm sure someone will be able to say for certain

Take your time and enjoy. If you get stuck there will most likely be someone around on here to help :thumb:

looking great , good luck with your first go . I would give thoughts to just doing 1 brew as it will take at least 6 hrs more like 7 . It can get a hand full your first couple of brews .

Its more like I am doing the Old Peculiar and then when the HLT and tun are free then my mate is going to start his brew
with a view being ready to boil when the boiler becomes free ,So we will have 2 brains going for each brew .

Good luck! I did my first AG a couple of weeks ago, going to be bottling tomorrow. Ever since I did it, I've been looking forward to the next!

Quick pictorial of our first brew I di spend half an hour writing of our adventure and clicked the wrong button and lost it all

looking really good , i hope it all went well

We had a real good day and learnt lots
bad bits were stuck sparge in the bottom drain tun on both brews but a blow up the tube cleared it

and the hop filter in the boil kettle stuck on the second brew so we improvised and poured it through a BIAB bag
so hoping that one will be ok .

The smell was awesome in the general area of my house and could not believe how sweet the wort was
and also how tasteless the spent grain was .

biggest surprise was the cobbled together box for the boil kettle cut bring to the boil time in half by catching the hot gas
