afternoon all.

a quick question. im just about to move my joungs bitter to the bottleing bucket, and ive just brought some beer finings. i was wondering if i added it b4 i started to transfer to the bucket or when it is in the bucket.

My concern with finings is that it drops out the yeast too much for bottling. I've had situations twice where I have fined then bottled and there was not enough yeast to give a good secondary fermentation and the beer failed to carbonate.

I'd be tempted to skip fining & get it bottled.

This is just my opinion though - i'm keen to hear what others think :)

There should be no problem with fining beer prior to bottling . . . There will be more than enough yeast to carbonate. The only issue is that if any finings debris is disturbed and carried over it forms a very loose easily disturbed sediment in the bottle
