I should hope fully be taking delivery of the bits to make my HE today.

Will consist of

A 9L Burco, bought very very cheap
10m or so of 8mm copper coil
Some bits from BES
and a gland from watch-hill to go with my RTDs

I haven't brewed for about 12 weeks so looking forward to getting this together and testing it.

Will post pics as the build progresses.

Started last night by making the coil, will finish tonight hopefully :-)

Considering putting the coil in horizontally so I use less water for heat exhangement. Any known downsides?

Some furious work whilst SWMBO was putting the little one down this eve.

Making the holes in the lid with the help of a QMAX punch.

Tweak Tweak, crank, cut, tighten. The long legs on the 8mm are for height adjustment of the coil if need. The T-piece is from BES, 1/2" BSP -> 3mm gland form watch-hill screws into that.

It's air tight, so should be mash liquor tight :-) Testing commences Sunday.
